Dear All,

We are in the process of establishing the Sackler Cellular and Molecular Imaging Center (SCMIC). The center will bring together researchers, students and physicians who share a common interest in using and developing state-of-the-art imaging technologies and molecular imaging (MI) assays for studying intact biological systems as well as diverse biological samples. The center’s aim is to develop the molecular imaging research at Tel Aviv University byestablishing the molecular imaging infrastructure, coordinating interdisciplinary MI research and training researchers and students in molecular imaging methods.

The Molecular Imaging Laboratory staff includes Dr. Miriam Shaharabany Dr. Leonid Mittelman and Dr. Yael Zilbershtein. The SCMIC includes the following units: 1) Confocal laboratory equipped with a single and multi photon confocal microscopes; 2) Small animal molecular imaging laboratory that includes an optical bioluminescence, fluorescence imaging, intravital confocal microscope and high resolution ultrasound (headed by); 3) Image analysis laboratory. In the near future the center will include a high resolution confocal microscope and SPECT/CT.

On behalf of the Scientific Committee I would like to invite you to join the center and to participate in the half-day meeting scheduled for July 15th 2009 afternoon. A detailed program will be sent soon!

Please send the abstract to miriams@post.tau.ac.il

Looking forward to your participation in the upcoming activities.

Prof. Ilan Tsarfaty

Head, Sackler Cellular and Molecular Imaging Center
