A paraffin dispensing module with heated work surface, storage areas for both cassettes and molds. The Leica EG1150 modular tissue embedding center incorporates two separate components, the independent modules offer the flexibility to arrange embedding workflow for maximum efficiency. Tissue is oriented in a metal mold filled with hot paraffin.

The cold plate is held at a constant temperature of –5°C to support rapid cooling of embedded blocks and molds. The easy to load, large-capacity plate can hold in excess of 70 standard cassette molds. The Leica EG1150 C cold plate can be used as a stand-alone unit for re-cooling blocks prior to sectioning or as part of an embedding center to cool molds after paraffin dispensing.
