IVIS® Lumina Imaging System
The IVIS® Lumina III from PerkinElmer provides a sensitive small animal bioluminescent and fluorescent in-vivo imaging. The system uses leading optical technology for preclinical imaging research and development, ideal for noninvasive longitudinal monitoring of disease progression, cell trafficking and gene expression patterns in living animals.
IVIS® Lumina S5 (located in the SPF) is a high-throughput 2D optical imaging system tha combines high-sensitivity bioluminescence and fluorescence in a benchtop format. It provides 20×20 cm field of view, for imaging up to 5 animals at a time, ex-vivo specimens and cell culture plates with bioluminescence and fluorescence.
In both systems bioluminescence imaging provides a highly sensitive and efficient method to detect luciferase in live animals. In addition, the IVIS systems have a broad spectrum of wavelengths, including 19 excitation filters from 420nm to 780 nm and 7 emission filter from 520nm to 845nm. They are also equipped with an isoflurane anesthesia system, low-auto fluorescence optics and a cooled CCD camera (-90°C) for a maximum resolution of 50µm.
